Bethany Joy Lenz plays a woman caught in a love triangle in the new Hallmark romance movie Savoring Paris. The film, which will premiere as part of Hallmark Channel’s Passport to Love programming event, also stars Ben Wiggins and Stanley Weber.

In a recent interview, Lenz talked about her experience filming the movie in Paris.

“I loved the wildness of it,” she told People. “You can’t control Paris. You can’t tell pedestrians what to do. You just have to improvise with whatever you have. It was terrific fun.”

In Savoring Paris, Bethany Joy Lenz plays Ella, a burned out exec at an American food chain who realizes the happiest time of her life was during a trip to Paris after college. Ella quits her job and jets off to the City of Lights to recapture that feeling as she considers her next move. Free from a job that made her unhappy and away from her well-meaning mom (played by Lucy Newman-Williams), who always urges her to make safe and practical life choices, Ella embraces her newfound joie de vivre.

She also finds herself forming connections with two men: Gaston (played by Ben Wiggins), and Serge, (played by Stanley Weber).

According to a synopsis from Hallmark, “…Just as she decides what she wants in life – and who she wants to be with – cultural differences put those plans in question.”

  • Bethany Joy Lenz and Kristoffer Polaha star in new Hallmark movie filmed at the Biltmore Estate

Bethany Joy Lenz and Kristoffer Polaha star in new Hallmark movie filmed at the Biltmore Estate

Bethany Joy Lenz and Kristoffer Polaha will headline the new Hallmark movie A Biltmore Christmas, which was filmed on location at the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina. The film, which was made in January 2023, is part of the 2023 Countdown to Christmas lineup.

    New Hallmark movie

In A Biltmore Christmas, Bethany Joy Lenz plays Lucy, a screenwriter who lands the job of a lifetime when she’s hired to pen the script for a remake of the 1947 holiday movie classic, His Merry Wife, which was filmed at the historic Biltmore House in Asheville, North Carolina.

Lucy travels to the estate to do research. After discovering an enchanted hourglass, she goes back in time to 1946 and finds herself on the set of the original version of His Merry Wife. She meets Jack Huston, (Polaha) one of the movie’s stars, and the two begin to spend time together. But when she realizes that her presence in the past could affect whether the film gets made, Lucy has to decide whether to give up on her budding romance.

    Biltmore Estate

A Biltmore Christmas made headlines when crews began filming shortly after Christmas last year. A network executive said the landmark made the perfect backdrop to a Christmas romance.

“Each year we look for ways to create exciting, new holiday viewing experiences for our audience,” said Samantha DiPippo, senior vice president of development and programming at Hallmark Media. “We know fans will love being transported back in time and the iconic, beautiful Biltmore Estate is the perfect setting to help fans get into the holiday spirit.”

The 175,000-square-foot Biltmore Estate took six years to complete. The home of George Washington Vanderbilt, it was opened to friends and family on Christmas Eve in 1895. The 250-room French Renaissance chateau includes 35 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms, and 65 fireplaces.
