Two new Hallmark movies in production

Two new Hallmark movies are currently in the works. Crown Media announced it has started production on The Road Ahead and Two Tickets to Paradise. Both movies will air this summer.

Two new Hallmark movies: The Road Ahead

The Road Ahead stars Holly Robinson Peete as Madeline, a famous Hollywood actress, and Kaylee Bryant as Sarah, a wilderness expert. When circumstances force the women to make a cross-country trip together, they get off to a rocky start. But as they get to know each other, they discover some common ground and unexpectedly help each other face their past mistakes through support and unconditional love.

“We are very excited about this upcoming movie that celebrates the bond of female friendship.” Said Lisa Hamilton Daly, executive vice president of programming at Crown Media Family Networks. “This film showcases our breadth and depth as a brand and will bring viewers on an emotional journey. I love seeing women encourage, support and empower others, and this truly shines through in this new original.”

The Road Ahead also features actor Mark Humphrey. It will air on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries this summer.

Two Tickets to Paradise

What they don’t realize is that they have both booked trips to the same resort, and they keep running into each other in paradise. When a local woman (played by Mary-Margaret Humes) shares her wisdom with the couple, they begin to let go and enjoy their time together in Hawaii.

Ashley Williams shared a video to Instagram clip from the set of the movie that showed the cast and crew receiving a blessing from a local shaman.

“Ok secrets out. I’m shooting an epic romantic comedy in hawaii with the incomparable (and may I say easy on the eyes?) @ryanpaevey. Hawaiian tradition says that this creative venture begins with a blessing. Of us. Of the crew, the cast, the entire creative team,” she wrote. “…We rubbed 30 year old rain water on our hands and touched each other’s hands to show our respect and eagerness to connect and take care of each other on this project. How in the world did I get so lucky? Thank you to Oahu and island films for taking such beautiful care of us.”

Two Tickets to Paradise will air during Hallmark Channel’s Summer Nights movie event.
