It looks like Abby chose Evan on Chesapeake Shores. Season 6 of the series will premiere on August 14.

Hallmark has released a preview for the sixth and final season of Chesapeake Shores, and it looks like Abby picked Evan. In the 22-second clip, Evan (played by Robert Buckley) arrives at the O’Brien house looking all James Bond-y in a tuxedo. He has anchored a luxury yacht offshore (as you do), and Abby (Meghan Ory) comes down to the dock wearing sweats and looking embarrassed.

“I don’t think I’m dressed for this date,” Abby says.

“You have never looked lovelier,” he replies.

In the next shot, the two are slow dancing aboard the yacht, and Abby has magically changed into a green ball gown.

Swoon.

Abby picked Evan

Season 5 ended on a romantic cliffhanger for Abby. In the finale episode, she confided in her sister that she had made a choice between the two men pursuing her. One was schoolteacher Jay Ross (played by Greyston Holt) and the other was Evan Kincaid, a billionaire man-child who was one of the family’s clients.

However, she didn’t reveal her choice to the audience. Unless the clip Hallmark released is some sort of dream sequence (which would NOT be cool, Hallmark), it looks like Abby chose Evan.

Unfortunately, not all fans approve of him.

“Evan needs to leave right now,” one fan wrote on the Chesapeake Shores Facebook page. “He is not the man for Abby.”

Another agreed, but for more selfish reasons.

“Evan can make a move on me,” she wrote.

Season 6 of Chesapeake Shores

Fans were thrilled when Hallmark announced the series would come back for another season. But many were disappointed to find out it would be the show’s last.

Based on a series of novels by Sherryl Woods, the show follows a single mother (Ory) who returns to her small coastal hometown following a divorce. She immediately gets caught up in the problems of her large family. She also reconnects with her high school sweetheart, Trace Riley, who was played by Jesse Metcalfe.

Shortly before production on Season 5, Metcalfe announced he was leaving the series.

“I just felt that there wasn’t really anything else I could do with the character,” he said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Writers immediately introduced a new love interest for Abby. However, she wasn’t the only one who found romance in Season 5. Connor fell for his paralegal Margaret, and Bree reconnected with a friend from high school.

The stars of the show, who have been sharing behind-the-scenes photos on social media, say the final season is going to be full of surprises.

“This is by far the best season we’ve had yet, and we hope you will love watching it as much as we loved making it,” Barbara Niven wrote in an Instagram post.

Season 6 of Chesapeake Shores will premiere on Sunday, August 14 on Hallmark Channel at 8/7c.
