Andrew Walker and Rachel Skarsten will star in the new Hallmark movie Christmas Island. The film will debut this weekend as part of Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas lineup.
New Hallmark movie
In the movie, Rachel Skarsten plays Kate, a commercial airline pilot who is hoping to make the transition to being a personal pilot. She has booked a gig flying the wealthy Sharpe family to Switzerland for their Christmas vacation. She hopes that if she does a good job, the family will consider hiring her full-time.
But when a snowstorm hits while they are mid-flight, an air traffic controller (played by Andrew Walker) convinces her to make an emergency landing at a small airport in the Maritimes, Canada.
Kate and the Sharpes are all taken in by host families in the nearby community of Christmas Island, where the locals are known for their hospitality. In order to keep her hopes for a full-time job alive, Kate must help the increasingly anxious Sharpes find their holiday spirit and embrace the local holiday traditions.
The situation becomes even more complicated when Kate finds out that the air traffic controller who convinced her to make an emergency landing is from a local family in charge of the festivities. As the two begin to have feelings for each other, Kate realizes there might be more to life than just work.
