Hallmark has announced a date for the Season 6 premiere of Chesapeake Shores. The sixth and final season of its hit series Chesapeake Shores will air in August.
“The rumors are true!!” read a Tweet from the network. “Chesapeake Shores returns to Hallmark Channel on August 14! Come see what the O’Brien family has been up to! What are you most excited about #Chessies?”
Fans weighed in with what they want to see during Season 6.
“Hopefully #BabyObrien for Kevin + Sarah!” wrote one.

Chesapeake Shores Season 6
The stars of the series have been sharing photos from the Vancouver Island set on social media.
Barbara Niven, who plays Meg O’Brien on the series, posted a photo from her last day of shooting.
“This is by far the best season we’ve had yet, and we hope you will love watching it as much as we loved making it,” she wrote. “I’m not going to say goodbye. But I will say this, which is an old Irish blessing that I think Nell would say too: ‘Until we meet again… May God hold you in the palm of his hand.’”
“My last time in the Chesapeake hair and makeup trailer,” wrote Treat Williams. “Thank you all.”
Based on a series of books by Sherryl Woods, Chesapeake Shores debuted on Hallmark Channel in 2016. The show follows a single mother (played by Meghan Ory) who returns from New York City to her small hometown following a divorce. She reconnects with her ex Trace Riley (Jesse Metcalfe) and is thrown back into the drama of her large family.
Metcalfe surprised fans when he decided not to return for Season 5 of the series. In an interview with ET, he said it was time to move on.
”Life’s all about growth,” Metcalfe said. “I tend to put myself in challenging situations because I feel like that’s the fastest way to grow. No one saw this decision coming for me to leave Chesapeake, but sometimes the hardest decisions are the best ones to make and the ones that you grow the most from.”
Season 5 finale
Season 5 ended with several cliffhangers. Connor (Andrew Francis) collapsed from a suspected heart attack. Mick (Williams) and Meg (Niven) had an argument following their reconciliation.
Abby (Ory) chose between the two men who were pursuing her, and Bree (Emilie Ullerup) started a new relationship.
Chesapeake Shores Season 6 will premiere on Sunday, August 14.
