Heather Hemmens stars as Jude, a stressed-out TV producer who is sent on a mandated vacation after making an on-air gaffe. At first, she finds it hard to relax, but that all changes when she meets a handsome stranger. Unfortunately, she finds out something about the stranger (played by Ser’Darius Blain), which would prove a major scoop. Jade must decide whether to enjoy her vacation or break one of the biggest stories of her career.

About the stars

Ser’Darius Blain has appeared on the TV shows NCIS, Chicago PD, and The Vampire Diaries. He played Galvin Burdette on the CW revival of Charmed and Reggie Sadler in The Big Leap.

Heather Hemmens has starred in the OWN series If Loving You is Wrong and in the CW series Roswell, New Mexico. Caribbean Summer is her third movie for Crown Media Family Networks. She appeared in Hallmark Channel’s Love, Take Two in 2019 and Christmas in my Heart on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries in 2021.

In March, Hemmens announced that she had signed a multi-picture deal with Crown Media Family Networks, Hallmark Channel’s parent company.

“Manifestation update!!” Hemmens wrote in the caption. “As a black girl from rural Maine, an offer to spread joy, love and fun with the @hallmarkchannel is a dream come true! And on #internationalwomensday! I’m overcome with gratitude. Thank you to the wonderful team at #Hallmark for this very official welcome to the family. I am honored!”

A network spokeswoman said Hallmark was thrilled to have the star on board.

“We are excited to sign this multi-picture deal with Heather Hemmens,” said Lisa Hamilton Daly, executive vice president of programming for Crown Media. “Heather is such a pro at what she does, making every movie she works on unique and special. We are lucky to have her on-board, starring in multiple movies for us.”

Caribbean Summer will premiere on Saturday, June 11 on Hallmark Channel at 8/7c.
