Great American Family, the network founded by former Hallmark CEO Bill Abbott, will release 18 new Christmas movies in 2022. The Great American Christmas lineup kicks off on October 21 on Great American Family. New films will air each weekend and the network will show Christmas movies around the clock as the holidays draw near.
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year with 18 all-new holiday original #GreatAmericanChristmas movies on #GreatAmericanFamily,” wrote a post on Great American Family’s Instagram page.
Many of the new films will features stars that have worked for Hallmark in the past, including Candace Cameron Bure, Cindy Busby, Daniel Lissing, Danica McKellar, and Paul Greene. In a recent Variety article, the network released the details on each of the 18 movies.
New Christmas movies from Great American Family
October:
“Destined at Christmas”
Premieres: Saturday, October 22 on Great American Family at 8/7c.
Stars: Shae Robins and Casey Elliott
Synopsis (provided by the network): “Kim and Theo meet amid Black Friday shopping madness but there’s a definite spark between them. When a power outage causes some panic at a store, the couple gets separated. With Christmas coming, there should be plenty of distractions, but neither Kim nor Theo can forget the other. Both yearn to find each other but how with so little information to go on? It’ll take a little Christmas magic and destiny to bring them back together.”
“Catering Christmas”
Premieres: Saturday, October 29 on Great American Family at 8/7c.
Stars: Merritt Patterson and Daniel Lissing
Synopsis: “A fledgling caterer, Molly Frost, is hired by Jean Harrison, the perfectionistic director of the renowned Harrison Foundation, to cater this year’s annual Christmas Gala dinner. Things get complicated when Molly falls for Jean’s nephew, Carson, 30s, a photographer with no desire to take over the family’s foundation — until his aunt assigns him to the task of making sure the catered dinner goes perfectly.”
