Viv Leacock and Natasha Burnett find magic in Hallmark romance movie Legend of the Lost Locket
When Calls the Heart co-stars Viv Leacock and Natasha Burnett will headline the new Hallmark romance movie Legend of the Lost Locket. The actors, who play Joseph and Minnie Canfield on When Calls the Heart, play strangers searching for an enchanted antique in the Legend of the Lost Locket, which will premiere as part of Hallmark Channel’s Spring Into Love lineup.
“This is your official reminder to join Amelia on her search for the true love locket… and true love along the way!” wrote Natasha Burnett in an Instagram post to promote the movie.
Her When Calls the Heart co-stars responded in the comments section.
“AHHHH!!! I CANT WAIT!!!” wrote Amanda Wong.
“SO pretty!” wrote Erin Krakow.
Hallmark romance movie
In Legend of the Lost Locket, Natasha Burnett stars as Amelia Scott, a London-based antiques expert on the hunt for a long-lost antique locket that legend says will grant the wearer true love. Her late mother started the quest and Amelia is bound and determined to see it through.
When her search brings her to a small town in Massachusetts, she immediately clashes with Sheriff Marcus Forrest (played by Viv Leacock), who questions her motives and interest in the town’s history.
But when he begins to understand what acquiring the iconic locket could mean for the community, he joins Amelia in the race to find the antique before any of her competitors can decipher the clues and beat them to the treasure.
“As their pursuit of the locket intensifies, so do their feelings for each other,” reads a synopsis from Hallmark. “From the Boston art world to participation in the town’s annual Founder’s Day costume ball, their search for the fabled locket inspires Amelia and Marcus to follow their hearts to the ultimate treasure – true love.”
About the cast
Viv Leacock and Natasha Burnett joined the cast of Hallmark’s longest-running original series When Calls the Heart in 2021. They play Joseph and Minnie Canfield on the show, parents to Cooper and Angela, who are played by Elias and Vienna Leacock, Viv Leacock’s real-life son and daughter.
In a 2022 interview, Natasha Burnett talked about how welcoming cast members were.
“There was such a positive energy because most of them have been there for so long!” she told Daily Planet. “They were all willing to show us anything we needed to know. For a character, when you join doesn’t matter, because the character still has to be developed and established.”

Cameron Mathison to host new show on Game Show Network
Cameron Mathison will soon star in a new TV show. The General Hospital actor will host Game Show Network’s new series Beat The Bridge.
“I’ve been waiting to share this for a while!” Mathison wrote in an Instagram post. “This summer I’ll be hosting Beat The Bridge on @gameshownetwork!
So excited for you all to see it and so grateful to be a part of the GSN family.”
Fellow Hallmark star Cindy Busby weighed in with the comment, “I’m so excited for you Cameron!!! Keep on bringing smiles to everyone’s faces.”
Jill Wagner wrote, “Woo hoo !!!! Congratulations buddy.”
Cameron Mathison
Cameron Mathison made headlines in 2023 when he announced he had signed a multi-picture deal with Great American Family, a new network founded by former Hallmark CEO Bill Abbott.
“It is very important to me to create well-crafted, beautiful stories,” added Mathison. “I am grateful to be back at Great American Media and to collaborate with some of the best creative teams in entertainment to make heartwarming content everyone can enjoy.”
Long career
A native of Ontario, Mathison graduated from McGill University before pursuing a career in modeling and acting. He landed bit parts on The Drew Carey Show and JAG before being cast as Ryan Laevery on General Hospital in 1998.
He has appeared in the Hallmark movies The Christmas Ornament (2013), Window Wonderland (2013), Along Came a Nanny (2014), My Gal Sunday (2014), A Christmas to Remember (2016), At Home in Mitford (2017), Very, Very Valentine (2018), A Summer to Remember (2018), Love, Of Course (2018), The Christmas Club (2019).
He also starred as Detective Mike Kingston in the Hannah Swensen Mystery series alongside Alison Sweeney.
He became a correspondent for Good Morning America and joined Debbie Matenopoulos as co-host of the lifestyle series Home and Family in 2018, replacing Mark Steines. Hallmark canceled the series in 2021.
Advocate
Cameron Mathison has posted on social media about his experience with Legg Calve Perthes Disease, a rare degenerative bone disease, that forced him to wear leg braces for four years when he was a child.
He has also shared with fans about his fight with cancer. In 2019, he announced on the Hallmark Channel series Home and Family that doctors had discovered a cancerous growth on his right kidney.
“It’s a tumor that’s consistent with something called renal cell carcinoma,” he said as his co-host Debbie Matenopoulos looked on.
The cancer had not spread, and the tumor was surgically removed. Mathison has been cancer free since 2021.
New show
Mathison’s new show is based on the BBC series Bridge of Lies. In Beat The Bridge, contestants must try to cross an enormous interactive bridge by stepping on the right answers to challenging trivia questions. Each step forward puts money in the team’s bank, with bonus money for each successful crossing. However, the team gets to keep the money only if it can “beat the bridge” by returning one of its players back across before time expires in an exciting end game.
Game Show Network will premiere Beat the Bridge in June.

Hope Valley will soon see another wedding
Another wedding is coming to Hope Valley. Writers for the hit Hallmark series When Calls the Heart said someone will be getting married in Season 11. However, they are keeping their lips sealed about which couple on the show will tie the knot.
“There’s going to be a wedding in Season 11,” said Brian Bird, co-creator of the series, in an interview on the Heart to Hearties podcast. “I’m not going to say what it is or who’s getting married, but there’s going to be another wedding in Hope Valley. How about that? I’m looking forward to that.”
Another wedding
Hearties spent most of last season waiting for Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) and Lucas (Chris McNally) to tie the knot. The couple, who became engaged in the Season 9 finale, were planning their wedding throughout Season 10.
But the two drifted apart when Lucas began his run for governor. Shortly before the end of the season, Elizabeth broke things off. Some fans were furious with the turn of events, saying Elizabeth had become a character they didn’t recognize anymore.
Others were thrilled, saying that Elizabeth was a better match for Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry).
Nathan and Elizabeth?
Hallmark has been teasing a romance between Nathan and Elizabeth in recent months. When the network released the Season 11 poster, it featured an image of Nathan and Elizabeth looking at each other longingly.
In a trailer for the new season, Nathan is caught speechless when he sees Elizabeth sporting a new haircut.
McGarry said he thinks Nathan was made for Elizabeth.
“I have always liked Nathan and Elizabeth as a couple,” he told Entertainment Tonight.
Mike and Mei?
But Nathan and Elizabeth aren’t the only two Hope Valley residents making eyes at each other. Mike (Ben Rosenbaum) and Mei (Amanda Wong) have also been spending time together and a clip for Season 11 shows them growing even closer.
In a trailer released by Hallmark, Mike presents Mei with a new bicycle.
“I thought you could use it to get your mud from the hot springs,” he tells her.
“Mike, I love it!” she says.
“It’s the perfect bike for the perfect person,” he says.
Aaaaaawwwwww.
Maybe Lucas?
Though Elizabeth and Lucas are no longer engaged, he will continue to be part of the series, according to the writers.
“Lucas is one of our leads and he always will be and he’s an incredible actor,” showrunner Lindsay Sturman said. “His journey is incredibly exciting in season 11. And I think that…we get to see a side of him that we didn’t know…We went back and kind of mined what did we know about him, and then…carry those stories through because…there’s so much richness to the stories that we inherited. And then just growing them from there.”
He may have had his heart broken but surely a man like that doesn’t stay single for long.
What do you think, Hearties? Let us know in the comments section who you think will be getting married.

A book club leads to true love in new Hallmark movie
Erin Krakow and Robert Buckley find true love through a book club in the new Hallmark movie Blind Date Book Club.
Krakow plays a bookstore owner and Buckley an author in the romantic comedy, which will air as part of Hallmark’s Spring Into Love lineup.
“Your heart can be a real page-turner,” reads the movie’s tagline.
In an Instagram post to promote the film, Krakow shared a behind-the-scenes photo of herself, Buckley, and Robert Benson.
“How excited are you to see #BlindDateBookClub?” she wrote in the caption. “A) @peterbenson889 with a soft smile B) @robertearlbuckley with a joyful smile or C) @erinkrakow with a smile like she’s about to eat more onion rings.”

New Hallmark movie
In the new Hallmark movie Blind Date Book Club, Krakow plays Meg Tompkins, a woman who inherited her mother’s book store. She introduces a “Blind Date Book Club,” in which readers choose a mystery book and then come together to discuss it. When local author Graham Sterling sees her interview with a local TV station, he decides he wants her readers to review his new manuscript.
Though Meg is skeptical, she agrees. As the two spend time together, they develop feelings for each other.
About the cast
Erin Krakow studied acting at the prestigious Julliard School in New York City. She played Army Specialist Tanya Gabriel in the television series Army Wives before being cast on the hit Hallmark series When Calls the Heart in 2014.
She has appeared in the movies A Cooke Cutter Christmas (2014), Finding Father Christmas (2016), Engaging Father Christmas (2017), Marrying Father Christmas (2018), A Summer Romance (2019), Sense, Sensibility & Snowmen (2019), It Was Always You (2021), and The Wedding Cottage (2023).
Robert Buckley
A native of California, Robert Buckley earned a degree in economics from the University of California, San Diego. After graduating in 2003, he began working as a financial consultant before deciding he wanted to pursue acting.
After appearing in a horror film and guest starring on several TV shows, Buckley joined the cast of the CW’s hit series One Tree Hill. He went on to play Captain Lilywhite in iZombie and Peter in Hart of Dixie.
He joined the cast of the Hallmark series Chesapeake Shores in its fifth season. His character, Evan Kincaid, was brought in as a possible love interest for Abby (played by Meghan Ory). Evan Kincaid was a brilliant but eccentric billionaire, who hired the O’Brien family to help him with local business interests. Though Abby complained about him at first, she began to soften toward him when she realized he was lonely.
In a Season 5 cliffhanger, Abby chose Evan over schoolteacher Jay Ross (played by Greyston Holt). Their romance unfolded in Season 6, which ended up being the last for the series.
Buckley grew close to the cast during filming. When Treat Williams was killed in an accident in 2023, Buckley posted a tribute to him on Instagram.
“Treat was a special guy,” he wrote. “He had a big smile, even bigger heart and he loved to laugh. He was a joy to be around. I’m grateful for the time we spent together and that I was able to call him a friend. He will be greatly missed.”
Buckley has also appeared in the movies The Christmas Contract (2018), Love in Store (2020), The Christmas House (2020), and The Christmas House 2: Deck Those Halls (2021).

Victor Webster and Alison Sweeney race to find a killer in new Hallmark mystery
Victor Webster and Alison Sweeney will reunite on the small screen in a new Hallmark mystery. The actors, who played husband and wife in Hallmark’s The Wedding Veil series, will join forces to find a killer in the movie One Bad Apple: A Hannah Swensen Mystery.
“So excited for the new #HannahSwensen mystery One Bad Apple to premiere this Friday night!!” wrote Alison Sweeney in a social media post promoting the movie. “Thank you @hallmarkmystery for helping us make these fun movies.”
“Think you’ll figure it out before we do?” wrote Victor Webster in his own post.
Victor Webster and Alison Sweeney
Victor Webster and Alison Sweeney have starred in several Hallmark movies together. Webster played Sweeney’s love interest in the popular Hallmark series The Wedding Veil.
But this is his first appearance in the popular Hannah Swensen series. One Bad Apple: A Hannah Swensen Mystery is the ninth movie in the series, which is based on novels by Joanne Fluke.
Up until the last film, A Zest for Death: A Hannah Swensen Mystery, Cameron Mathison starred opposite Alison Sweeney as Mike Kingston, a local detective and her fiancé. Their romance developed over the course of the series. But fans were left reeling when the characters broke off their engagement in the seventh film, Carrot Cake Murder: A Hannah Swensen Mystery.
Though they reunited to solve a case in the next movie, they never reconnected romantically.
New Hallmark mystery
In One Bad Apple, Hannah is asked to teach a baking class at the local college. Her equipment is tampered with causing an explosion that the fire department rules accidental. But then one of her new colleagues is murdered and Hannah finds herself on the list of suspects.
While trying to prove her innocence, she comes face-to-face with handsome local prosecutor Chad Norton (Webster) and sparks fly.
What about Cameron?
Cameron Mathison has moved on from Hallmark to work for Great American Media, a company founded by former Hallmark CEO Bill Abbott.
In an interview with TV Insider, Alison Sweeney talked about the changes in Hannah and Mike’s relationship.
“Mike is attracted to Hannah and her crime-solving ways, her mind, the fact that she is so interested, the fact that she’s good at it,” she told TV Insider. “She does get people to talk to her in a way that sometimes Mike or other detectives aren’t able to get them to open up. She does have really good instincts and a unique way of getting people to open up to her. I think the cookies help. Mike respects that, and he loves that about her, but it causes him a lot of trouble at work, and for good reasons and maybe also not-so-good reasons, the sheriff isn’t too keen to have Hannah getting involved in the crime-solving business. So that’s been a tricky thing for [Mike] to navigate. And unfortunately, I think Mike is a little old school, so he struggles with how much of that to share with Hannah.”
