    Cindy Busby and Virgin River star Benjamin Hollingsworth find love while on a wilderness retreat in the new Hallmark movie A Whitewater Romance.
     
    “Maya (Cindy Busby) is a big city girl with limited outdoors experience. Matt (Benjamin Hollingsworth) loves the outdoors. Can these opposites ever learn to see eye to eye—and open their hearts to each other?” reads a description on Hallmark Channel’s Facebook page.

    In the new movie, Cindy Busby plays Maya Alvaro, a hardworking businesswoman with a heart of gold. Maya is thrilled when she finds out she is being considered for a promotion. Her excitement turns to dread when her boss invites her on an executive wilderness retreat. Maya is definitely not an outdoorsy type but she knows that if she wants this promotion, she needs to go along.
     
    Soon after she arrives at Whitewater Lodge, she meets Matt (played by Benjamin Hollingsworth), who not only is an outdoorsy type but is also in the running for the same promotion. The two are paired up in a series of team-building exercises such as zip-lining, high-wire rope walking, and whitewater rafting. 
     
    According to Hallmark, “As Maya lets her guard down to brave the wild wilderness, what begins as a ferocious competition slowly starts to evolve into something much more.”

    Cindy Busby portrayed Ashley Stanton in the CBC series Heartland. She has also appeared in The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, and The Secret Circle.
     
    From 2014 to 2015 she portrayed Rebecca Jennings on the Hallmark series Cedar Cove. She also appeared in the Hallmark series the Hailey Dean Mysteries alongside Kellie Martin and Viv Leacock.

    Three new Hallmark movies coming to TV in May

    Three new Hallmark movies are coming to TV in May, including films starring Brendan Penny, Cindy Busby, Benjamin Hollingsworth, and Stephen Huszar. 
     
    “I am so looking forward to this airing,” Brendan Penny said in an Instagram post promoting his new movie, Family Practice Mysteries: Coming Home. “Possibly my best movie with the amazing @hallmarkmystery. Make sure to watch!”
     

    New Hallmark movies

     
    First up in May will A Whitewater Romance, starring Cindy Busby and Ben Hollingsworth. In the movie, Cindy Busby plays Maya, who is sent on an executive business retreat by her employer. She is paired up with a handsome stranger (played by Ben Hollingsworth) and sparks fly. 
     

    Brendan Penny mystery

     
    Brendan Penny will headline the new movie Family Practice Mysteries: Coming Home. In the mystery, actress Amanda Schull plays Dr. Rachel Hunt,  a former Army surgeon. After losing her husband in combat she moves back to her small hometown with her teenage twins, Chloe (played by Isla Crera) and Matthew (played by Jett Klyne), to work at a small clinic.
     
    When one of her patients dies, Dr. Hunt becomes suspicious. Her attempts to involve the authorities are met with resistance by charming police detective Jack Quinn (Brendan Penny), who is not convinced that a murder took place.
     
    Dr. Hunt puts her background in forensics to work and calls in favors from people in the community to figure out what happened to her patient. She is so successful that Detective Quinn joins forces with her to catch the killer.
     

    Stephen Huszar

     
    Chesapeake Shores actor Stephen Huszar will co-star with Pascal Lamothe-Kipnes in the new Hallmark romance Everything Puppies. Pascal Lamothe-Kipnes plays an entrepreneur trying to market dog toys and treats. She gets help from a wealthy — and handsome — client, played by Stephen Huszar.
     

    Countdown to Summer

     
    Hallmark has been promoting these new films and two others as part of its Countdown to Summer lineup. Also airing will be A Lifelong Love, starring Andrea Brooks and Patch May, and Big Sky River: The Bridal Path, starring Kavan Smith and Emmanuelle Vaugier.
     
    A Lifelong Love will air on Hallmark Channel on Saturday, May 4 at 8/7c.
     
    A Whitewater Romance will premiere on Hallmark Channel on Saturday, May 11 at 8/7c.
     
    Family Practice Mysteries: Coming Home will premiere on Hallmark Mystery (the network formerly known as Hallmark Movies and Mysteries) on Friday, May 17 at 9/8c.
     
    Everything Puppies will premiere on Hallmark Channel on Saturday, May 18 at 8/7c.
     
    Big Sky River: The Bridal Path will air on Hallmark Channel on Saturday, May 25 at 8/7c.

    Best friends find romance and Christmas magic in new Hallmark movie

    Cindy Busby and Kat Barrell play best friends who take a Christmas-themed road trip in the new Hallmark movie Everything Christmas. Along the way, they also meet two eligible bachelors and a man who may or may not be the real Santa Claus.

    The film, which will premiere as part of the network’s Countdown to Christmas lineup, also stars Corey Sevier and Matt Wells.

    New Hallmark movie

    In Christmas Everything, Cindy Busby plays LJ, a Christmas-obsessed woman who has finally planned a trip to the town of Yuletide Springs. She and her grandmother always wanted to take part in the town’s tradition of making a wish while placing an ornament on the town’s Christmas tree.

    She asks her best friend, Tory (played by Kat Barrell) to come with her. Tory, who is so obsessed with work that she can barely think about the holidays, agrees to come along.

    As they make the journey, they cross paths with a very friendly town Santa named Kris Kringle (played by George Masswohl), who seems to have a magical ability to appear whenever they need help.

    They also meet Zach (Corey Sevier), a tow truck driver whose passion for everything Christmas rivals LJ’s, and Jason (Matt Wells), who helps Tory see that there is more to life than work.

She has starred in the Hallmark movies A Nutcracker Christmas (2016), A Godwink Christmas: Miracle of Love (2021), and A Tale of Two Christmases (2022).

    She also directed the Countdown to Christmas movie Flipping For Christmas, which starred Marcus Rosner and Ashley Newbrough.

    “It was amazing,” Barrell said during a social media appearance. “It was all-consuming between the directing and the trying to be present with my family. It was a mad dash for the past two months but we did it.”

    Everything Christmas will premiere on the Hallmark Channel on Friday, November 10 at 8/7c.

    Everything you need to know about the new Hallmark movie Marry Me in Yosemite

    The new Hallmark movie Marry Me in Yosemite will premiere as part of the network’s Fall Into Love programming event. The romantic comedy stars Cindy Busby, Lexy McKowen, and Tyler Harlow.

    In the movie, Busby plays a photographer who needs help navigating the wilderness while on assignment in Yosemite National Park. Harlow plays an off-the-grid nature guide who agrees to help her out.

    “To shoot in a place like Yosemite was awe-inspiring,” Harlow said in a recent interview. “It’s one of the wonders of the world, it really is. You really feel a spiritual sense there, it really has that gravity of power to it. To wake up every day and know that I was filming a movie at Yosemite was awesome.”

    Both actors shared a brief video on Instagram showing a few behind-the-scenes moments.

    New Hallmark movie

    According to a synopsis from Hallmark, Busby stars as Zoe, a photographer known for her “Zoe’s Best” series of books that showcase pictures of famous cities. But when her publisher suggests she make one about Yosemite National Park, Zoe finds herself out of her depth.

    When she arrives, she is awed by the park’s beauty but is having trouble navigating her way around. A park guide suggests she work with Jack (played by Harlow) a conservationist and former rock climber who likes to stay off the grid. They work together and begin to develop romantic feelings for each other. Zoe explains that she wants to take the kind of photo that shows she is a true artist. But will her desire for perfection could cost her more than she is willing to give up?

    About the stars

    Cindy Busby is a Hallmark fan favorite, having appeared in two different series for the network: Cedar Cove (as Rebecca Jennings) and When Calls the Heart (as Marlise Bennett). She has also starred in the Hallmark movies A Godwink Christmas: Meant For Love, Heart of Down Under, Wedding March 5: My Boyfriend’s Back, Chasing Waterfalls, and Romance in the Air. She also starred in Joy for Christmas, which premiered on Great American Family (the new network started by former Hallmark CEO Bill Abbott) in December 2021.

    Outdoor enthusiast Tyler Harlow was a trained firefighter and EMT before landing a role in Water by the Spoonful. He is a professional model and has appeared in the movie Secret Diary of a Cheerleader.

    Marry Me in Yosemite premieres on Hallmark Channel on Saturday, September 3 at 8/7c.
