Hallmark mystery

Tipline Mysteries: Dial 1 for Murder is currently streaming on Hallmark’s app Hallmark Movies Now. But Friday will be the first time it airs on cable.

In the movie, Roden stars as Maddie Moore, a concierge at a Detroit hotel who moonlights as a tip line operator for the Detroit Free Press. Though she usually spends her time responding to calls about alien sightings and lost cats, she becomes intrigued when a caller reports an upcoming jewelry heist.

When Maddie brings this to the police, she finds that her usual contact has retired. He has been replaced by the handsome Det. Beeks (played by Chris McNally). Beeks dismisses Maddie’s concerns but she won’t let the issue drop. After listening in on a police scanner, she hears about a jewelry heist and homicide. She rushes to the scene of the crime only to have Det. Beeks turn her away,

Maddie continues to investigate on her own and soon Det. Beeks has to admit that she is on to something. Together they track the criminal only to find themselves in harm’s way.
