Alison Sweeney will star in new Hannah Swensen
Alison Sweeney will return as everyone’s favorite baker-turned-detective in a new Hannah Swensen movie. But Cameron Mathison won’t play the romantic lead in this one. Instead, Victor Webster will step in.
“I’ve always loved working with Victor — from our years in daytime [TV] to our work together on ‘The Wedding Veil,’” Sweeney said in a statement through Hallmark. “When writing the script and developing this movie, I knew he’d be a great addition to the Hannah Swensen family and am thrilled that he said yes.”
New Hannah Swensen
The new movie is titled One Bad Apple: A Hannah Swensen Mystery. In the movie, Sweeney returns as Hannah Swensen, who has been asked to teach a baking class at the local college.
But when someone tampers with her equipment causing an explosion and one of her colleagues is murdered, Hannah begins to investigate. While trying to solve the murder, she comes face-to-face with Lake Eden’s handsome lead prosecutor Chad Norton (Victor Webster).
“The great chemistry Alison and Victor had in ‘The Wedding Veil’ trilogies made the decision to bring him into this world an easy one,” said Laura Gaines, director of development at Hallmark Media. “It will be fun for viewers to see a different side of the legal process as Hannah learns the recipe for a strong case.”
Cameron Mathison
Fans were upset when Hannah and Mike (played by Cameron Mathison) broke off their engagement in Carrot Cake Murder: A Hannah Swensen Mystery. Though Mathison appeared in the next movie, A Zest for Death: A Hannah Swensen Mystery, he did not rekindle his romance with Hannah.
Off-screen, Mathison has signed on with Great American Media, a new company started by former Hallmark CEO Bill Abbott. The actor has already made several movies for the company’s network Great American Family.

Hannah Swensen

In the new Curious Caterer mystery, Nikki DeLoach and Andrew Walker return as the crime-solving duo Goldy Berry and Tom Schultz. In this mystery, they must figure out who murdered the groom and find the missing bride for a wedding Goldy is catering.
To make matters even more complicated, the bride is Schultz’s ex-wife.
New Curious Caterer
Curious Caterer: Fatal Vows is the third installment of the Curious Caterer series, which is based on a series of books by Diane Mott Davidson.
The first of the movies, Curious Caterer: Dying For Chocolate, premiered on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries in 2022. The second, Curious Caterer: Grilling Season, followed in 2023.
Fans are eager to know if the flirtation that began in the first movie escalates any further in the third.
“Can’t wait to see this one,” wrote a fan on the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries Facebook page. “Love these two together.”
Fatal Vows
In Curious Caterer: Fatal Vows, Goldy is hired to cater a wedding for demanding bride Jessamyn Cole (played by Amanda Khan). The situation is awkward as Jessamyn used to be married to Goldy’s love interest, Tom Schultz (played by Walker).
The town is shocked when the groom, Sterling Clearwater (played by Kareem Malcolm) is found dead and Jessamyn goes missing. To complicate matters, a new detective (played by Brock Morgan) with a vendetta against Tom is hired to oversee the case.
Forced to take matters into her own hands, Goldy must find Jessamyn before the bride meets Sterling’s fate.

New Hannah Swensen mystery features awkward reunion between exes
The new Hannah Swensen mystery A Zest for Death features an awkward reunion between Hannah and Mike. The couple, who broke off their engagement in the last Hannah Swensen movie, come face-to-face when they are — surprise! — investigating the same murder.
“Hannah’s connection with Mike may be on a rough road, but a new mystery is just around the corner,” reads a promo on the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries fan page.
New Hannah Swensen
In A Zest for Death, Hannah’s mother (played by Barbara Niven) is house hunting with Hannah’s sister when they discover a dead body. The victim was a regular customer at Hannah’s business, The Cookie Jar, so naturally Hannah gets involved in solving the murder.
This time she gets help from her mother and her two sisters (played by Tess Atkins and Lisa Durupt). There is an awkward reunion with Mike with Hannah becomes convinced his prime suspect is innocent.
“There’s nothing like a murder to bring two people back together,” says the narrator in a preview.
Hannah and Mike
Fans were left reeling after Hannah and Mike broke up in Carrot Cake Murder: A Hannah Swensen Mystery.
In a May interview, Sweeney talked about some of the challenges the couple faced.
“Mike is attracted to Hannah and her crime solving ways, her mind, the fact that she is so interested, the fact that she’s good at it,” she told TV Insider. “She does get people to talk to her in a way that sometimes Mike or other detectives aren’t able to get them to open up. She does have really good instincts and a unique way of getting people to open up to her. I think the cookies help. Mike respects that, and he loves that about her, but it causes him a lot of trouble at work, and for good reasons and maybe also not so good reasons, the sheriff isn’t too keen to have Hannah getting involved in the crime solving business. So that’s been a tricky thing for [Mike] to navigate. And unfortunately, I think Mike is a little old school, so he struggles with how much of that to share with Hannah.”
Fans have made it clear they would like to see Hannah and Mike get back together, but so far Hallmark hasn’t offered any clues as to whether they will reunite.
A Zest for Death: A Hannah Swensen Mystery will premiere on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries on Friday, October 6 at 9/8c.

Good news! A new Curious Caterer movie is in the works
A new Curious Caterer movie is in production at Hallmark. The mystery series, which stars Nikki DeLoach and Andrew Walker in the leading roles, premiered last year on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries to rave reviews.
Though DeLoach and Walker have kept quiet about the production, a listing on an industry website showed that a television movie titled Curious Caterer: Last Suppers was recently shot in Vancouver, British Columbia.
New Curious Caterer movie
Curious Caterer: Dying For Chocolate debuted on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries in 2022. The movie starred Nikki DeLoach as Goldy Berry, a single mother and small-town Colorado caterer. When her friend dies under mysterious circumstances, Goldy joins forces with Detective Tom Schultz (played by Andrew Walker). According to a synopsis from Hallmark, the two end up “discovering a hidden recipe for murder.”

A second film in the series, Curious Caterer: Grilling Season, premiered in February 2023. In that movie, Goldy caters a barbecue for a friend who ends up dead when her grill explodes after the party. Goldy is the number one suspect because she was the last one to use the grill. She works with Schultz to clear her name.
The situation becomes even more complicated when Tom’s ex-wife shows up while they are trying to solve the murder.
The movies are based loosely on a series of mystery books by Dianne Mott Davidson.

Walker has appeared on the TV shows Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Reba, The Big Bang Theory, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, ER, and When Calls the Heart. Aurora Teagarden: Til Death Do Us Part
Candace Camerone Bure says Til Death Do Us Part was only the second time she has played a bride
When Candace Cameron Bure walks down the aisle as Aurora Teagarden on Sunday, it will be only the second time she has played a bride onscreen.
“Here’s the surprise,” she said. “Everyone thinks I’ve been married a bunch of times on television. And they ask, ‘How many dresses have you worn?’ But this is actually only my second time in 27 Hallmark movies and well over 35 or 40 TV movies in general, it’s only my second time getting married on TV. And the first time is on Fuller House.”
Til Death Do Us Part is the sixteenth installment in the Aurora Teagarden film series, which debuted in 2015 with Aurora Teagarden Mystery: A Bone to Pick. The movies chronicle the adventures of a small-town librarian and amateur detective. They are based on the mystery series by Charlaine Harris.
In this episode, Aurora “Roe” Teagarden (played by Candace Cameron Bure), marries long-time boyfriend Nick Miller (played by Niall Matter). But before they can make it to the altar, they must solve the murder of a man found in a local warehouse. When the police begin investigating the crime, Roe and Nick realize they were with the victim the night that he died, and that people who knew the man are hiding something.
Things become even more complicated when Roe’s father, Charles (played by Andrew Airlie), comes to town to meet the groom.
Second time a bride
Despite being in the business since she was six years old, Bure has only played a bride once before. That was during the 2017 episode of Fuller House, “Wedding Or Not, Here We Come,” in which Bure’s character married her high school sweetheart in a triple ceremony that included her sister Stephanie and her best friend.
Hallmark Movies and Mysteries Channel will air back-to-back showings of the Aurora Teagarden series on Sunday, June 13, in preparation for the premiere of Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Til Death Do Us Part at 8/7c.
