“As a lifelong DIY enthusiast, I fell in love with party planning while coming up with creative ways to bring my daughter’s birthday parties to life,” said Chabert in a statement through the company. “I am so excited to lend my love of crafts to create joyous moments for deserving people. This is going to be an epic party as we celebrate real-life heroes, complete with the ups and downs that only unscripted television can capture.”
Lacey Chabert
Lacey Chabert is a Hallmark Media staple, having appeared in 38 movies for the network. The Mean Girls star is also active in charity, working with the non-profits the American Humane Association, Starkey Hearing Foundation, Opportunity Village, and Race to Erase MS.
“Lacey Chabert shares the same passion for celebrating everyday heroes as we do at Hallmark,” said Lisa Hamilton Daly, executive vice president of programming at Hallmark Media. “Lacey’s natural warmth and genuine nature make her a perfect fit for this series that is sure to leave our Hallmark audience feeling uplifted as they experience these heartwarming stories and spectacular events. Though The Way Home was renewed for a second season — it will premiere in January 2024 — Ride was canceled.
Where to watch
Hallmark has not yet given a premiere date for the series. The company indicated that the show, which will debut sometime in 2024, will be available through Hallmark Media’s subscription service.

Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up is the sequel to 2022’s Haul Out the Holiday, which premiered to rave reviews from fans. Lacey Chabert teases new Hallmark movie set in Scotland
Lacey Chabert gave fans a glimpse at her new Hallmark movie on Instagram. In a post promoting A Merry Scottish Christmas, she shared a photo from the film, which will premiere as part of Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas lineup.
“I’m so excited that I finally get to share this with you!” she wrote in the caption. “Reuniting with @iamscottwolf for #AMerryScottishChristmas for @hallmarkchannel was a dream come true! Scott is forever family to me and this reunion with him was pure joy.”
New Hallmark movie
Lacey Chabert and Scott Wolf played siblings on the hit TV series Party of Five. The show, which also launched the careers of Jennifer Love Hewitt and Neve Campbell, followed a group of five brothers and sisters forced to band together when their parents are killed in a car accident.
Chabert has said she and Wolf have looked for opportunities over the years to work together again.
“Scott and I have talked for years about doing another project together. When we first read this story about these siblings at a crossroads, we both knew it was the perfect opportunity,” Chabert said.
A Merry Scottish Christmas
In A Merry Scottish Christmas, Chabert plays Dr. Lindsey Morgan and Wolf plays Brad Morgan, siblings who have drifted apart over the years. When their mother invites them to spend Christmas at her childhood home in Scotland, they both reluctantly accept.
Once there, they fall in love with the idyllic Glencrave and its beautiful 15th-century castle, unique Christmas traditions steeped in history, and warm and friendly townspeople.

But the holiday visit becomes complicated for everyone when the Morgan siblings discover a colossal family secret that their mom has been keeping from them. As the siblings work hard to restrengthen their relationship — and Lindsey becomes smitten with Glencrave’s handsome estate manager (played by James Robinson) — they must each decide what is important to them to determine their own futures.
Both Chabert and Wolf were executive producers for the movie, which was filmed on location in Scotland.
In a statement made through Hallmark, Wolf said he is thrilled to be working with Chabert again.
“Working with Lacey on ‘Party of Five’ was one of my favorite experiences ever,” he said. “Reuniting after all of these years to tell such a beautiful story together is a dream that I’m so glad is coming true.”
A Merry Scottish Christmas will premiere on Hallmark Channel on Saturday, November 18 at 8/7c.

Two Hallmark favorites will reunite in new movie
Hallmark stars Lacey Chabert and Will Kemp will reunite in a new movie for Hallmark Movies and Mysteries. The actors, who starred together in the 2019 movie Love, Romance & Chocolate and the 2020 movie Christmas Waltz, will put their dancing skills to use in The Dancing Detective: A Deadly Tango. The mystery is currently in production in Malta.
“I’m thrilled to be working with my good friend @iamwillkemp again on a new movie for @hallmarkmovie,” Chabert wrote in an Instagram post. “We are currently filming in Malta and having such a great time bringing this mystery to life!”
Kemp also posted on Instagram.
“The game is afoot! Thrilled that we have this amazing opportunity to bring The Dancing Detective to life with The Dancing Detective: A Deadly Tango. Filming is underway in Malta with a release date later this year.”
New movie
In The Dancing Detective: A Deadly Tango, Chabert plays Constance Bailey, a no-nonsense detective who prefers to work alone. When a high-profile CEO is murdered on the eve of his company’s corporate event in Malta – a ballroom dance competition between senior executives – Bailey is sent undercover as one of the contestants.

The only problem is she can’t dance. She reluctantly teams up with charismatic and free-spirited performer Sebastian Moore (Kemp). But with a killer on the loose and a growing list of suspects, it’s going to take more than a little fancy footwork to solve this case.
Charismatic duo
Chabert and Kemp have proven to be a winning team for Hallmark. An exec said that fans have been asking for more movies featuring the two stars.
“After the success of Christmas Waltz, viewers have been clamoring for another movie with this charismatic duo,” said Elizabeth Yost, senior vice president of programming and development at Hallmark Media. “When Will came to us with this fun spin on a whodunnit, we knew that it was the perfect opportunity to reunite him with Lacey.”
Both Kemp and Chabert will serve as executive producers on the movie. The script was written by Aubrey Day based on a story and characters created and developed by Aubrey Day and Will Kemp.
The dancers
Though Chabert grew up on stage — she played the young Cosette in the Broadway production of Les Miserables — her experience with ballroom dancing was limited before she was paired up with Kemp in Christmas Waltz.
To prepare for the movie, she trained for three weeks at home before undergoing nine days of intensive training.
Kemp attended the prestigious Royal Ballet School in England before joining
Matthew Bourne’s dance company Adventures in Motion Pictures. During an appearance in Swan Lake, Kemp was spotted by the head of Paramount Studios. He appeared in a commercial for Gap and then snagged a role in the 2004 movie Van Helsing.

Alison Sweeney, Autumn Reeser, and Lacey Chabert send fans their love from the set of the new Wedding Veil movies.
Alison Sweeney posted a video from the set of Hallmark’s new Wedding Veil movies, calling the experience “an incredibly fun adventure.”
“It has been so much fun filming #TheWeddingVeil in Greece & Bulgaria,” she wrote. “I’m so grateful to everyone on the cast & crew for making this shoot so special.”
New Wedding Veil movies
Sweeney’s co-star Lacey Chabert broke the news that three new Wedding Veil movies were coming to Hallmark during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
While promoting her new Christmas movie, Haul Out the Holly, Chabert revealed that she was heading to Greece to film the next movies in the series.
“We’re going to be back,” Chabert said.
The Wedding Veil trilogy
Fans were excited earlier this year when they found out that three of their favorite Hallmark stars — Lacey Chabert, Alison Sweeney, and Autumn Reeser — would be starring in a trio of movies together.
The Wedding Veil trilogy followed three college friends who reunite every year for a weekend visit. During a trip to San Francisco, Avery (played by Lacey Chabert) bought an antique wedding veil alleged to be enchanted. The shop owner told her that the person who has the veil will find true love. Soon after, Avery met the man of her dreams (played by When Calls the Heart’s Kevin McGarry), and the two married. She then passed the veil along to Reeser’s character, who found true love on a trip to Italy to research the veil’s origins. After Reeser’s character said, “I do,” she passed the veil along to Sweeney’s character, who — yup, you guessed it — ended up falling in love as well.
In a Facebook Live interview to promote the original movies, Chabert said the movies were, at their core, about friendship.
“I think the sisterhood is at the heart of these stories,” Chabert said.
On the set
In posts from the set of the new movies, all three actresses have said how wonderful it is to be working together again.
“I am so grateful to have such incredibly supportive friends!!” Sweeney wrote in another post. “We were filming late together on a night which happened to be the premiere of #amagicalchristmasvillage. So while we were filming #theweddingveil everyone cozied up to watch and enjoy the movie during our breaks in between takes.”
The Wedding Veil Expectations will premiere on Hallmark Channel on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 8/7c.
